We chose a white couch so that visually it wouldn’t break up the space (with slipcovers of course because ya know, life happens!) and subtle nods to nautical elements with blues and stripes.

The banquet was created from dresser units for added storage and to allow the table to nook into the corner leaving a clear path to the back deck. It comfortably seats 6! To anchor the space we converted Della’s mother’s chandelier to a plug in and swagged it over the table. We opted to only use the half the crystals so it didn’t out-glam the room.

This was one of those decisions I’d compare to a trust fall. Originally the master bedroom (it’s the largest of the three and has a half bath off of it), I knew that with the right design it would become a second living space and serve multiple purposes. During the day it is a wonderful office with lake view, in the evening it is a peaceful place for Terry to read, and when there are guests it is a show stopping suite!
